Earlier, the Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre stated that Cyclone Michaung, which is brewing in the Bay of Bengal, is predicted to miss the city and make landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam on Tuesday morning with gusts of up to 100 kmph, reported ANI.
The threat of a cyclonic storm in the Southwest Bay of Bengal prompted meteorological authorities to issue a widespread rainfall warning for numerous areas in southern and eastern India. Rainfall intensity is expected to increase starting today, with rain falling in most regions and heavy to very heavy rain falling in a few places.
On December 3, isolated, extremely heavy rain is expected. Rain is forecast in most areas on December 4, with heavy to very heavy rain in isolated areas. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected on December 5, but it will likely level off after that.
