GLOBAL HAND WASHING DAY on 15.10.2022

 

Samagra Shiksha-Observing of Global Hand washing Day (GHD)-2022 with theme as "Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene" on 15.10.2022-Instructions Issued-Regarding

 Ref: Lr.No.F.28-18/2019-IS-6(Pt-3), Dated:11.10.2022 of the Director, Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Gol, New Delhi

 The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education(MoU), Gol, New Delhi has decided to observe Global Hand Washing Day (GHD) on 15.10.2022 with theme as "Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene" provides an excellent opportunity to further reinforce & sustain effective hand hygiene behavior among children, teacher and larger community.

 In this regard, the following is a suggested list of activities that may be undertaken on this day:

 • Work with State SBM (G) functionaries to activate all Swacchagrahis to spread GHD messaging at district level among the students, teachers and parents.

 Engage with District Collectors for HWD celebration in schools with appropriate safety protocols.

 .Activate Women SHGS and Mother/Parent Teacher Associations/SMCs in urban and rural settings for GHD messaging.

. Engage youth groups tribal communities on GHD messaging. • Organize ground level activities (wall painting, competitions for children  etc.) in collaboration with GPS/ULBS. Activate local media channels (TV/radio) as well as social media for GHD awareness. Engage with Community Radio Stations to disseminate messaging on GHD 2022.

 Activate frontline workers and institutions under various departments to spread key GHD 2022 messaging. Organize webinar and roundtables /panel discussion on GHD 2022

 • Organize webinar and roundtables /panel discussion on GHD 2022

 • Organize television and radio programmes on the theme of GHD 2022 Engagement, orientation and mobilization of Civil Society partners.

 It is submitted that in this regard, it is imperative to engage children, teachers, and the local community (including the School management committee, parents, panchayats, urban local body, Swachhagrahies, youth
