Implementation of RPS 2022- Applicability of the revised period for Enhanced Family Pension- Clarification on effective date

The attention is invited on the subject and references cited.

2. The Director of Treasuries and Accounts in the references 1st & 2nd cited has stated that regarding the revised period of Enhance Family Pension orders have been issued vide G.O. 3rd cited but expressed that there is ambiguity on applicability and on effective date and requested to issue clarification on the matter.

3. In G.O MS.NO.2 Finance(HR.III-Pension,(GPF) Dept, Dt:17.01.2022 following orders have been issued regarding Enhance Family Pension:

" If a government servant dies while in service , the enhanced family pension is to be paid to his dependents for a period up to 10years or up to the date on which he/she would have attained the age of 67 years , had he/she survived, whichever is earlier. In case of death after retirement the enhanced family pension should be payable for a period of (7) years or up to the date on which he /she would have attained the age of 67 years , had he/she survived, whichever is earlier"

. After careful examination of the mater hereby clarified that the effective date for applicability of revised period for enhanced family pension to be paid to the dependents as laid down in G.O.Ms.No.2, Fin(HR.IIIl, Pen.& GPF) Dept. dt. 17.01.2022 in the event of death of an employee while in service/ as a Service Pensioner is on or after the effective date of the PR i.e, 01.07.201..
