NMMS Examination: A Gateway to Educational Opportunities
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination is a prestigious scholarship program in India, initiated by the Ministry of Education to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Conducted annually by the Directorate of Government Examinations in various states, including Andhra Pradesh, the NMMS exam aims to encourage students to pursue secondary education without financial constraints.
The NMMS exam is open to students of Class VIII studying in government, local body, and government-aided schools. It assesses students’ abilities in subjects such as mathematics, science, and general knowledge through a competitive written test. Qualifying students receive an annual scholarship to support their studies in classes IX to XII.
