Supply of Good quality of Fortified Rice at the door steps of Schools

The attention of all the District Educational Officers in the state is invited to the references cited, Civil supplies corporation is supplying Fortified rice under centrally sponsored pilot scheme to Schools, Anganwadi centers from June, 2021 to ensure nutritional support and to overcome micronutrient deficiency and anaemia amongst children and women. Fortified rice contains kernels and rice in the ratio of 1:100, the fortified kernels contain three micronutrients i.e., Iron, Vit B12 and Folic Acid.

It has been decided to supply Good Quality Fortified rice directly at the door steps of all schools covered under MDM from April, 2022 onwards through Stage-II Transportation Vehicles/MDUs directly from MLS Points wherever feasible and also from FP Shops through MDUs where there is no feasibility from MLS Points.

In view of the above, The A.P. State Civil supplies corporation department has revised the Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) for implementing the supply of Fortified rice to the school point through the new delivery system is as follows.

a. To Coordinate with the Civil Supplies Officials in preparation of mapping /route plan and obtain the mapping data in Annexure-I from all schools.

b. To issue instructions to Head Masters, MEOs, Self Help groups and to ensure the availability of QR fode rexin slips at the time of receiving the Fortified Rife from stage II fontraftors/MUm operators and to acknowledge the stocks immediately through e-pos.

f. To issue instructions to all the Head Masters to follow the FIFO (First in First Out) principle while utilizing the stocks in order to prevent the deterioration of stocks in storage.
