 NMMS 2020 - Online Application 

II. ABOUT NMMS SCHEME

  1. The Ministry for Human Resource Development, Government of India has launched centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). Under this scheme an examination will be conducted and selected candidates will get the scholarship.
  2. Every year 1, 00,000 students will be selected throughout India. Out of which 4087 scholarships are being allotted to Residuary Andhra Pradesh and have been distributed among the districts basing on enrollment in VII and VIII Classes for each academic year.
  3. The Director of Government Examinations, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada is conducting NMMS examination from August 2008.
  4. This examination is conducted every year in the month of November for the students in class VIII studying in Government / Local Body / Municipal / Aided Schools / Model Schools (without Residential Facility) are eligible for this examination.Due to Covid -19 this year the Examination is scheduled to be Conducted in the month of February 2021.
  5. The candidates who got minimum 55% of marks for OC/BC candidates and 50% for SC/ST in VI Standard. ( Class VI has to be considered as there is no examination conducted for VII class students for the academic year 2019-20 Due to covid- 19)
  6. The beneficiaries are being selected basing on the merit and as per the reservation norms followed by the state. 
I. DUE DATES
a) Application online submission from 09-11-2020
b) Payment may be made from 09-11-2020
c) Last date for Upload the candidate's application by the concerned Head Masters. 09-12-2020
d) Last date for Payment of fee. 10-12-2020
e) Last date for submission of printed Nominal Rolls along with other
enclosures in the O/o.The District Educational Office concerned by (HMs / Principals)
12-12-2020
f) Last date for approval of applications at DEO level 14-12-2020
 
 IV. QUALIFYING PERCENTAGE:
    1) GEN, BC & PH : 40% (36 MARKS)
    2) SC & ST : 32% (29 MARKS)

  • NOTE:The student must Qualify both the tests i.e., Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with at least 40% marks in aggregate taken together for these two tests.

V. SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:

  1. The awardee will receive a sum of Rs. 12000/- per annum for which the awardee shall have to open a joint account with their parents in any S.B.I or in any Nationalized Banks which has core banking facility/ESC facility. On providing the Bank account number list by the states, the Ministry for Human Resource Development, New Delhi will sanction the scholarships and send such list to the SBI, New Delhi for disbursement of scholarships to the awardees.

VI. G.O:

  1. The Govt vide G.O Rt No.713 dated 25/09/2008, permitted the Director of Government Examinations to collect Rs.100/- for O.C/B.C and Rs. 50/- from S.C/S.T towards examination fee.

VII. PARENTAL INCOME:

  1. The candidate’s parental income should be below Rs. 1,50,000/- p.a.
