ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2017-18

FOR ADMISSION TO CLASSES VI & IX

Aim of the School. To prepare the boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy / Indian Naval Academy.

Age Limits for Admission

Class-VI: Boys born between 02 July 2006 and 01 July 2007 (both days inclusive).

Class-IX: Boys born between 02July 2003 and 01July 2004 (both days inclusive) and studying Class VIII in a recognised school.

Curriculum.10+2 System of CBSE (Science Stream).

Admission. Through All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination and Interview subject to medical fitness. Question Paper will be based on Class-V & Class-VIII CBSE Syllabus for VI & IX Entrance Examination respectively.

Entrance Examination: 15th January 2017 (Sunday)

Examination Centres. Examination Centre allotted will be mentioned in the Admit Card.

Approximate Vacancies. Class-VI: 90-100; Class-IX: 20-25.

Reservation. SC-15%, ST-7.5% & Defence-25%

Present Annual Fees.₹90,000/- including Tuition Fee and Messing charges (approximate amount). Hike of 5% to 10% is likely in subsequent year(s). Other miscellaneous expenditure as applicable.

Scholarships. Avail Merit/Income based and exclusive SC/ST scholarships from Govt of Karnataka for boys of Karnataka domicile. Defence Scholarships for wards of Serving/Ex-Service personnel of the Armed Forces.

How to apply

Option 1.Apply online by entering particulars in the online application form available on the school website and forward printout of PDF file generated alongwith relevant documents and DD towards application fee.

Option 2.Obtain the Prospectus / Application form from the School Office between 1000 – 1300 hrs on all working days by hand or post by submitting DD towards application fee as applicable (from 17 Oct 16 to 18 Nov 16).

(i) For obtaining prospectus by hand, the purchaser is to produce valid Identity proof viz. Aadhar Card / Voters ID / PAN Card / Driving License.

(ii) For obtaining by post, copy of Birth Certificate / Aadhar Card of the candidate and a self addressed envelope of A4 size with postal stamps (₹65/- for Class-VI; ₹105/- for Class-IX) affixed on the envelope are to be sent along with DD towards application fee. Requisition for Prospectus should clearly indicate name of the candidate, Class of admission (VI / IX), Category i.e., Gen/Def/SC/ST and medium for sample Question Papers (English/Kannada, for Class VI). The school will not be responsible for non-receipt/late receipt of Prospectus due to incorrect address/postal faults/delays.

Application Fee. ₹500/- for General/Defence and ₹350/- for SC/ST through Demand Draft in favour of “The Principal, Sainik School Kodagu” payable at Kushalnagar (Karnataka). DD towards application fee is to be made separately for each application.

Sainik Schools Society reserves the right to change the pattern of examination, admission criteria and contents of the question papers.

The School does not patronise any Coaching Institute / Agent and the admission will be made strictly in accordance with the merit of candidates in Entrance Examination and Interview subject to Medical fitness.

Collection / submission of DDs and applications in bulk will not be entertained.

Copies of Aadhaar Card and Birth Certificate of the candidate are to be attached along with application form.
